Description
Bethel was contracted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to manage hazardous materials and hazardous waste disposal at the Misawa AB Hazardous Waste Storage Area (HWSA). Misawa AB receives and processes hazardous waste, non-regulated waste, and other wastes requiring special handling at the HWSA. Bethel provided support for on-site management and operation services to handle all hazardous materials and waste in accordance with applicable host nation, Federal, and local requirements.
Bethel on-site personnel managed waste using the EESOH-MIS and Waste Modules to ensure appropriate and efficient tracking of hazardous waste disposal transactions. Bethel also provides support for the collection, receipt, documentation, and disposal of waste to appropriate facilities. Bethel’s personnel coordinated with USAF contractors or Defense Logistics Agency-Disposition Services (DLA-DS) and its contractors as required, to dispose of waste and schedule appointments for waste turn in.
