Description
Bethel conducted a removal action of lead- and zinc- contaminated soil from near the Black Rapids Airstrip outside of Delta Junction, Alaska. The soil had become contaminated as a result of unauthorized dumping of lead-acid batteries near the airstrip. Bethel excavated the contaminated soil based on x-ray fluorescence (XRF) field screening results. The soil was containerized into supersacks and transported to a landfill via truck, rail, and barge.
