Bethel currently holds a Multiple Award Task Order Contract on behalf of the U.S. Air Force for the USACE for work at installations in the Pacific Air Force (PACAF) Area of Responsibility, including Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Wake Island, the Northern Mariana Islands, Japan, and Korea. Task orders awarded under this contract include work in Alaska, Hawaii, and Japan to perform a wide variety of environmental construction, compliance, and facility operations support. This task order is comprised of a diverse set of tasks varying greatly in scope. This set of tasks includes conducting a Historic American Building Survey (HABS), conducting avian surveys, conducting Threatened & Endangered (T&E) plant surveys and supporting invasive species management at Misawa Air Base (AB).

HABS Survey

The HABS survey was conducted to support demolition and renovation activities at Misawa AB; a professional, Secretary of the Interior (SOI) qualified archaeologist with expertise in historical American buildings traveled to Misawa AB and worked closely with the installation Cultural Resources Manager to provide thorough documentation of three historic buildings.

Avian Species and T&E Plant Surveys

The avian species and T&E plant surveys was conducted to support the objectives outlined in the Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan (INRMP) which recognized biological diversity as a critical component to ecological management. To accomplish this work, Bethel has partnered with local Japanese firms to combine local plant and bird identification expertise with Bethel’s experience in resource management compliance to provide thorough, accurate documentation of the avian and plant species at the survey locations in support of the INRMP objectives.
